Academic Identity

Undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students of all Universities in the country can submit their application for the issuance of a new academic identity card online.

The new identity has strong features of mechanical resistance, and security against forgery. In addition, it is designed to be valid for as many years as the student status lasts, and to cover multiple uses, in addition to the Student Ticket (Pass). The identity cards will be delivered to the pick-up point chosen by each student when submitting their application, without any financial charge.

The new ID cards state the exact period of validity of the right of the Student Ticket. In the event that the student is not entitled to a Student Ticket, the card serves as a simple identity card.

Termination of student status for any reason automatically entails termination of the right to hold the Academic ID, which in this case should be returned to the Secretariat of the relevant Department.

The process of obtaining the Academic Identity is carried out through the website http://academicid.minedu.gov.gr
