Vassiliki (Vicky) Kleftoyiannis is a Biologist, holder of a Master's degree in Environmental Biology and a PhD in Participatory and Adaptive Management of protected areas. He specializes in participatory methods, with a focus on social research and the active participation and awareness of local communities in environmental protection issues. She has participated in research and management environmental projects since 2003. She was the Scientific Manager of the AgroThes research project, which concerned the prospects of Agroforestry in the Thessaly region, with the aim of strengthening the participation of farmers.
She was the main researcher in the PAMNATURA project, regarding the design of a model for the successful implementation of participatory management, which was awarded and included among the 30 Projects - Good Practices implemented within the framework of the European Social Fund in Greece for the period 2007-2013. She is Responsible for Participatory Land Management in the LIFE Terracescape project, which concerns the conversion of abandoned terraced landscapes into green infrastructures. Among others, he has collaborated with the agencies: Green Fund, University of Thessaly, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, General Secretariat for Research and Innovation, Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation, Society for the Protection of Prespa, University of Patras. He has published papers in Greek and international scientific journals and participated in scientific conferences.
