The Postgraduate Program awards a Postgraduate Diploma (MSc) with the title: "MSc in Multifunctional Management of Natural Ecosystems and Bio-economy", if the postgraduate student successfully completes all the prescribed courses of the program, as well as his thesis, in accordance with the regulation of postgraduate studies.

The Postgraduate Program accepts postgraduate students, graduates of Universities Departments of the country and recognized equivalent Institutions abroad and in particular after selection:

University graduates
  • (a) of the Department of Forestry, Wood Sciences and Design
  • (b) of the former TEI Departments of Forestry and Natural Environment Management and, Wood and Furniture Design and Technology,
  • (c) the University Departments of Forestry and Natural Environment, Forestry and Environmental Management and Natural Resources or
  • (d) relevant specialty

The Study Program has been designed in accordance with the quality assurance procedures provided for in each case.

The MSc is offered on a full or part-time basis. The duration of studies for the awarding of the Postgraduate Studies Diploma (MSc) is defined in three (3) academic semesters for full-time students and five (5) academic semesters for part-time students. The 3rd, 4th and 5th semesters, respectively, are offered for the preparation of the postgraduate diploma thesis, which requires its successful support, the completion of which can be extended by one year, following a decision of the Department Assembly.

Prospective students who have been admitted to the MSc can request for special and documented reasons the suspension of registration before the start of the academic year. It is also possible to temporarily suspend studies, following a relevant application, which does not exceed two (2) consecutive semesters. The semesters of suspension of the student status are not counted towards the prescribed maximum duration of normal studies. Finally, only in exceptional cases (illness, workload, serious family reasons, conscription, reasons of force majeure, etc.) may an extension of studies of up to one year be granted, following a reasoned decision of the Department's Assembly.

During their studies, postgraduate students are required to attend postgraduate courses, participate in all educational and research activities and prepare a postgraduate thesis. Each course corresponds to six (6) ECTS credits. Each student is required to attend and be successfully examined in a total of ten (10) courses and to successfully complete their thesis. The postgraduate thesis corresponds to thirty (30) ECTS credits. The total number of credits (ECTS) required to obtain the Diploma of Postgraduate Studies is ninety (90) ECTS.

In the 2nd semester, postgraduate students are required to register in addition to the three (3) compulsory courses and two (2) of the seven (7) elective courses to complete the required ECTS.

Part-time students are required to declare in the 1st and 3rd semester the courses of the 1st semester of full-time study and in the 2nd and 4th semester the courses of the 2nd semester of full-time study.
